Price: $90.00
AL GEIBERGER
This trading card is signed by the golfer who won 11 PGA Tour events, including the
1966 PGA Championship
Sports Card signed: "Al Geiberger/ 'Mr. 59'". Color, 2½x3½. Official PGA "Pro Set" card,
numbered 234. ©1991, PGA TOUR, INC. Stats from the 1990 Senior PGA Tour listed
on verso. In 1990, Geiberger, who ranked 13th in official money with $373,624, failed to
win a tournament for the first year since joining the Senior Tour in 1987. He did,
however, tie for second at the Vantage Championship, where he earned $126,000, the second
largest check of his career, and finished second (with teammate Harold Henning) at the
unofficial Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf. In 1977, Al Geiberger (b. 1937) shot a round of
59 (13 under par, with one eagle, eleven birdies and no bogeys) at the Danny Thomas
Memphis Classic. He went on to win the tournament, one ofhis 11 PGA tournament wins,
including the PGA Championship in 1966, and ten Senior (Champions Tour) titles.
Geiberger's 59, a record for a PGA tour event, earned him the nickname "Mr. 59". His
record has been tied but never beaten. Tiny crease at upper left corner. Otherwise, fine
condition.
