ANITA LOUISE
Actor Anita Louis signed this document in 1946 to give the Chicago Tribune, New York News Syndicate permission to use her name and likeness.
Document signed "Anita Louise". Black ink and lead pencil notations in unknown hand. 1 page, 8x10. Oct. 14, 1946. Addressed to New Syndicate Co. Inc., New York City. Louisesigned this document to give the Chicago Tribune, New York News Syndicate permission to use her name and likeness for editorial and promotional, but not advertising, purposes. She appeared in four films in 1946 - The Devil's Mask, The Bandit of Sherwood Forest, Personality Kid and Shadowed - with starring roles in the first three. Fashionable, fragile and eternally young Louise (1915-1970), born Anita Louise Fremault, got her acting start on Broadway at age six and debuted in films soon after that, in 1922. Her roles movies included costume dramas during her peak in the 1930s (Madame DuBarry, 1934; Midsummer Night's Dream, 1935; The Story of Louis Pasteur, 1936; Marie Antoinette, 1938) and ingénue roles after that, though she was equally effective at playing one of the black hats (Nine Girls, 1944). Louise also gained a reputation as a society hostess in Hollywood, with shindigs that attracted the beautiful people and the press alike. She jumped to TV in 1950 and stayed there for another 20 years. Her best remembered TV role is probably as mother Nell McLaughlin on My Friend Flicka (1955-1956). In all, she had over 80 movies and TV shows to her credit between 1922 and 1970. Lightly toned, creased and rippled. Random red pencil marks. Otherwise in fine condition.
