Inscribed Signature: "To Kayo/My Best Wishes/Montovani", 4¼x2¾ card
with color 1½x2¾ photograph attached at left (two surfaces). Born in Venice and
raised in London, Annunzio Paolo Montovani (1905-1980) was a violinist,
pianist, composer and conductor whose string orchestra's easy listening
recordings were popular worldwide from the 1930s into the 1960s. Although his
opus included some original compositions, Montovani's strength was in arranging
lush adaptations of familiar melodies. Most of Montovani's performances took
place in the recording studio; 35 million of his records were sold worldwide.
His orchestra had the first ever million-selling stereo LP. Pencil notes
(unknown hand) with no show-through. Fine condition.
