Charles "Chuck" Colson (1931-2012), White House Special Counsel (1969-1973) and the third most powerful man in President Richard Nixon's administration, served as Nixon's liaison to key interest groups. Renowned for his ruthlessness, Colson was said to be willing to run over his grandmother to serve the President. He served 207 days in prison for obstruction of justice in the Pentagon Papers and Watergate scandals. His experiences in prison led him to start Prison Fellowship, a Virginia-based Christian counseling program that operates in more than 600 prisons.
