Picture post card signed "Linda-/God Bless!/Charles/Haid". Black ink notations on verso in unknown hand. B/w, 4x5. Postmarked Van Nuys, California, Sept. 28, 1981. Addressed to Linda Stewart, Indianapolis, Indiana. One brown-and-red 12-cent "Freedom of Conscience - An American Right" stamp affixed. Message on verso in unknown hand: "You take care now honey!". American actor Haid, born in 1943, is probably best known as Officer Andy Renko on Hill Street Blues (1981-1987). Renko was shot and supposedly killed in the first episode, but he proved so popular that he pulled a Lazarus and came back for the rest of the series. In all, he's appeared in over 70 movies and TV shows, as of this biography since 1973, including recurring roles in Delvecchio (1976-1977) and Third Watch (2003-2005). Haid also made his directing bow during Hill Street Blues and has since directed episodes of many TV series, including Doogie Howser, M. D. (1990-1992), NYPD Blue (1993-2002), ER (1994-2008), Third Watch (2000-2005), Criminal Minds (2005-2009) and Nip/Tuck(2006-2008), the TV movie Cooperstown (1993) and the feature film Iron Will (1994). Normal postal stamps. Lightly bowed. Signature has low contrast in places, but is legible. Light chipping along left edge and in top left corner. Lightly worn, creased and rounded corners. Otherwise in fine condition.
