Diego, California, October 29, 1971, FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. Chris Burke was
born in 1965 with Down's Syndrome. Advised by doctors that he would never learn
to talk and should be institutionalized, Burke's parents raised him and saw him
through high school graduation. Burke starred as Corky Thatcher, a character
with Down's Syndrome in the TV series Life Goes On (1989-1993). He is
an inspirational speaker and newsletter editor for the National Down Syndrome
Society, and tours with a folk band. Fine condition. Slightly soiled. Otherwise,
fine condition.
