Envelope signed: "Eileen Collins", 6½x3¾. Eileen M. Collins
(b. 1956) was a US Air Force test pilot before entering NASA's astronaut
program in 1992. In 1995, she became the first woman to pilot the space
shuttle, flying Discovery to a rendezvous with Russian space station
Mir. She went into space on three more shuttle flights (1997-2005)
as the first female mission commander. These missions included deployment of
the Chandra X-Ray Observatory, resupply of the International Space Station, and
the first return to space after the loss of the Columbia. Since
retiring from NASA as a decorated colonel in 2006, she has been a space analyst
for CNN. Fine condition.
