In full: "Dear John: The invitation to the Theatre World Award Party which you so kindly sent me was forwarded to me here in St. Paul where I am in the process of directing 'Where's Charley?' for the Chimera Theatre. I am greatly disappointed that I will miss the party as I will be out here until June 19th. It is always such fun, and such a great opportunity to get caught up with old friends. I'll just have to hope I can make next years party. It is nice to be remembered and asked!! My best wishes." David Daniels (b.1929) is an American screen and stage actor who has appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show (1955), From These Roots (1958) and had reoccurring roles on Freaked (1993). He also performed in the long running Broadway show, Plain and Fancy (1955-56). John A. Willis (1916-2010), active in Theatre World from the beginning, became its chief editor in 1965, holding that position until 2008. Willis is regarded as one of the foremost theatre and film historians of the 20th century. While producing (and presenting) the annual Theatre World Awards, Willis also served on the nominating committee for the Tony Awards. Theatre World, which received its own Tony for Excellence in Theatre in 2001, continues under chief editor Ben Hodges. Normal mailing folds. Left edge creased. Corner lightly worn.
