Actress, singer and writer Carter (1939-2010)is best known for her TV roles as Julia Sugarbaker on the long-running comedy hit, Designing Women (1983-1993),and more recently as Randi King, the smart, sharp tongued lawyer with a southern rasp on Family Law (1999-2002) and in an Emmy-nominated turn as Gloria Hodge on Desperate Housewives (2006-2007). She has also starred in On Our Own (1977-1978), Out of the Blue (1979), Filthy Rich (1982-1983), Diff'rent Strokes (1984-1985) and Ladies Man (1999-2000). Carter has also starred in television movies and mini-series, including the 1981 CBS-TV movie The Killing of Randy Webster, where she met her husband, actor Hal Holbrook. In addition to her television credits, Carter also has an extensive theatre background and earned a Theatre World Award Drama Desk Award nomination for her performance the off-Broadway play Jesse and the Bandit Queen (1975-1976), as well as a Drama Desk Award nomination for her performance the off-Broadway play in Fathers and Sons (1978). Lightly creased and bowed. Signature has poor adhesion in places but is legible. Otherwise, in fine condition.
