1920, Donald Douglas (1892-1981) formed Davis-Douglas Co., which became
Douglas Aircraft Co. in 1928. Douglas was President from 1928-1957
and Chairman from 1957-1967, when his company merged with McDonnell
Douglas. Douglas served as Honorary Chairman from 1967 until his
death. The company merged again in 1997 to form Boeing McDonnell Douglas.
