Wishes"
Autograph sentiment signed "Best wishes/Eleanore Whitney". 5¼x3¾
Whitney, born Eleanor Wittenberg in Cleveland, Ohio in 1917, got her
start in vaudeville at age 10 and was billed as "the world's fastest tap
dancer". She had a short career (1935-1938) in movies, often pairing with Johnny
Downs in Paramount college musicals. Whitney has exactly one Broadway credit, in
the 1946 revival of The Would-Be Gentleman. Lightly toned and creased.
Pen skipped while signing signature, which is still legible. Adhesive residue on
verso, which shows through (does not touch signature). Folded once and unfolded.
Otherwise in fine condition.
