Typed Letter signed: "Frank C. Walker" as Postmaster General, 1 page, 7x9. Washington, D.C., 1941 November 5. On official letterhead to J. W. Studebaker, Commissioner, Office of Education, Washington, D.C. In full: "Thank you very much for your letter and for the posters which you forwarded to me which are to be used in connection with the celebration of American Education Week. I am delighted to have the posters and appreciate your thought one to me and to each of my four assistants. With best wishes, I am, Sincerely yours". Frank Comerford Walker (1886-1959) served as Postmaster General under Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry S Truman from 1940-1945. From 1943-1944, Walker was also the Chairman of the Democratic National Committee. He had previously served as Treasurer of the Democratic National Committee (1932-1933). President Truman appointed him an alternate delegate to the first United Nations General Assembly in 1945. Mailing fold through center. Pencil note (unknown hand) at top right corner.
