The German industrialist writes of expanding his accounting department.
TLS: "Krupp", 1p, 6¾x8½. Capri, 1899 April 15. The manager of the Krupp Works at Essen, which manufactured arms and machinery, writes to an unnamed doctor. In German, partial translation. In part: "With the expansion of my accounting department, I have written financial advisors Haux and Lauter and eagerly await their starting up. Please accept my most heartfelt congratulations and my most sincere gratitude...." Krupp took his father's steel and armament empire and expanded it to shipbuilding, armor plate manufacturing and chrome nickel steel production. His grandson Alfred managed the company during WWII, running the factories with inmates of concentration camps as slave labor. Alfred Krupp was imprisoned by the Nuremberg tribunal and served five years until he was granted amnesty. 2 file holes at blank left margin. Lightly creased. Fine condition.
