This large album leaf was signed with short notes by actors Gig Young and Robert Ivers and producer Y. F. Freeman, Jr. Comes with small b/w photos of each signer.
Autograph note signed: "George/It was nice/working with you/Good luck./Gig Young" and, on verso, "Sorry we do not have Time/for 'A Jug of wine"/Y. F. (Pete) Freeman Jr/alias Omar Khayyám" and "Again I can only thank you/George. Hope we can have/more sessions - later/Bob Ivers", all in blue ink. With small blue ink page notations on each side of leaf in unknown hand. 7¾x10, with small b/w magazine photos affixed to leaf. YOUNG (1913-1978, born in St. Cloud, Minnesota) made his screen debut in 1941 in You're in the Army Now under his birth name, Byron Barr. The following year, he played a character named Gig Young in The Gay Sisters, and subsequently changed his name to that of his character as there was already an actor named Byron Barr in Hollywood. Young, who was awarded the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award in 1969 for They Shoot Horses, Don't They?, was also nominated in that category for Come Fill the Cup (1951) and Teacher's Pet (1958). He also appeared in a number of other films, including Sergeant York (1941), Kid Galahad and That Touch of Mink (both in 1962), and appeared on several television shows, including The Twilight Zone. IVERS (1934-2003, born in Seattle, Washington) got his start on stage at the University of Arizona. He had a few uncredited film roles before his first real screen credit as Monk in Jerry Lewis' first solo movie The Delicate Delinquent (1956). Ivers also starred in Short Cut to Hell (1957), the only movie directed by James Cagney; in the better-than-average B-movie I Married a Monster from Outer Space (1958); and in the Elvis Presley vehicle G. I. Blues (1960). In all, Ivers has almost 30 movies and TV shows to his credit, many as a guest star on various TV series. He later worked as a television announcer in Fargo, North Dakota. FREEMAN (1915-1962, born in Georgia) was the son of Paramount head Y. Frank Freeman and a producer in his own right. His list of producing credits is small, but does contain one gem: an associate producer credit on the science fiction classic The War of the Worlds (1953). Lightly toned, stained and creased. Paper is discolored from adhesive of magazine photos and photos from adjacent pages. Leaf was torn neatly from album or guestbook on one edge, with rounded corners on opposite side. Otherwise in fine condition.
