Ketcham's imprinted name in panel above title. ©1981, Field Enterprises Inc. Dated in pencil (unknown hand) at lower right margin: "9-6-81". Features Ketcham's characters, Margaret and Joey, trying to guess the contents of a box Dennis is holding. Joey wins the "prize", a bullfrog, and walks away before Dennis can give her the "booby prize" - a snail. Original drawings, except for the title panel, which has been affixed to the board. Pencil lines and white out are still visible. A caption has been affixed to lower left margin. Cartoonist Hank Ketcham (1920-2001) introduced "Dennis the Menace", based on his son of the same name, in 16 newspapers in March 1951. When Ketcham retired in 1994, the strip, which appeared in some 1,200 newspapers in 48 countries (translated into 19 languages) continued, drawn by other artists. Lightly soiled at blank margins, minor stain touches Dennis' chin on last panel in middle section. Ink and pencil notes (unknown hands) at upper and lower margins. Production marks ["+"] taped to four places at lower left and right margins. Overall, fine condition. Framed by unknown individual: 22¾x16¾. Not reviewed by us for conservation integrity. Frame is loose and art is not securely mounted internally.  "As is" framing purchase.
