was the daughter of German-born Anglo-American singer, composer and
conductor Sir George Henschel, Helen Henschel was born in Boston, shortly after
her father became the first conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra (1881).
Helen, herself a talented concert pianist, wrote a biography of her father:
