Free frank signed: "Harewood", 4¾x3¼ affixed to slightly larger sheet. February 10, 1834. London, England. The second son of Edward Lascelles, the 1st Earl of Harewood, Henry Lascelles (1767-1841) succeeded his father as the 2nd Earl of Harwood in 1820. Previously a Member of Parliament, Lascelles joined the House of Lords after receiving his earldom. From 1819 to 1841, he also served as the Lord Lieutenant of the West Riding of Yorkshire. Heavily toned. Lightly soiled. Ink stamps. Edges irregular and jagged. Otherwise, fine condition.
