when she was 24. She went on to write or edit over 200 books under the pen
name of Pansy, mostly novels with a Christian message for young readers. She
also wrote a biography of Jesus, The Prince of Peace (1908). Isabella
Alden was a popular speaker at Chautauqua Assemblies, influential adult
education programs of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Fine
