Inscribed Printed Photograph signed in Ink: "To: Frank/ From: Jackée'" in purple felt tip, b/w, 8x10. Captioned at lower margin. Jackée Harry (b. 1956) became bored with her career as a history teacher at Brooklyn Technical High School and turned to the New York theater scene for amusement. She made her TV debut in the soap Another World (1983-1986). Then came 99 episodes of 227 (1985-1990) and 119 episodes of Sister, Sister(1994-1999). (She also directed 4 episodes of the latter). More recently, she appeared in 25 episodes of Everybody Hates Chris (2006-2009). From 1985 through 2009, Jackée appeared as herself on many game shows and talk shows, from The $10,000 Pyramid (1973-1981) to Late Night With David Letterman (1993-2015). She played opposite Oprah Winfrey in The Women of Brewster Place (1989) and won an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 1987. Harry played Billie Holiday on stage in Lady Day At Emerson's Bar and Grill in 1994. She is a national spokesperson for the Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fund and supports the United Negro College Fund. Fine condition.
