"In consideration of the publicity to be given to me and which may arise
herefrom, my consent is hereby irrevocably given to you, your assignees and
licensees, and to the Chicago Tribune-New York News Syndicate, Inc., and its
subscribers and licensees, to use my name, picture, or portrait, in publications
for editorial or promotional purposes, excluding, however, commercial
advertising." A decorated navy veteran of World War II, Jason Robards,
Jr. (1922-2000) moved on to success on the Broadway stage. Among his best
early film roles were encores of his earlier stage roles (Long Days Journey
Into Night, 1962; A Thousand Clowns (1965). He earned two Oscars
as Best Supporting Actor (All The President's Men, 1976; Julia,
1977), and was nominated for another (Melvin and Howard, 1980). The
son of stage and screen actor Jason Robards, Sr., he appeared on Broadway with
his dad in The Disenchanted (1958). He won a Tony Award for The
Disenchanted and was nominated for six others. Stray ink mark and faint
pencil erasure at blank upper margin. Fine condition.
