Radio personality, author and lecturer JILL EDWARDS published her book, Personality Pointers, in 1934. A self-improvement course (as were her radio programs and lectures), the book was billed as "A practical guide to individual attractiveness and an aid to artistic, musical and literary culture, written by an experienced practitioner of charm." Renowned juggler CHARLES CARRER, who was billed as "The Swiss Juggler" and "The King of Jugglers", starred on vaudeville and appeared in two feature films, Du Barry Did All Right (in which he appeared as a waiter who juggles wine glasses and bottles) and Dexterity (both in 1937). A former factory worker suffering from eyestrain, Carrer took up juggling to strengthen his eye muscles. Married to Dell O'Dell (1902-1962), a successful female magician, he managed her show and constructed her clever trademark props. Slightly creased. Lightly shaded at lower margin, light rectangular shading from photograph on Carrer's side, touching the "les" and last name of signature. Irregular left edge from removal from bound book. Fine condition.
