American classical pianist JOHN BROWNING (1933-2003) made his professional debut with the New York Philharmonic in 1956. In 1962, he premiered Samuel Barber's Pulitzer Prize-winning "Piano Concerto", written especially for him, at the opening of Lincoln Center. He won a Grammy for a recording of the same piece with the St Louis Symphony (1991). Browning was known for sensitive performances of works of Bach, Scarlatti and others. His last performance, 8 months before his death, was at an invitation event in the US Supreme Court Building. KENNETH SILLITO (b. 1939) is an English conductor and violinist associated with many elite chamber orchestras, including the English Chamber Orchestra, the Gabrieli String Quartet and the Melos Ensemble (with the co-signers here). Sillito has been music director of the Academy of St Martin's of the Fields. Cellist KEITH HARVEY (b. 1938) also performed with many chamber ensembles, including the Gabrieli String Quartet and the Melos Ensemble. He is a prestigious member of the cello fraternity. KEITH PUDDY, formerly first clarinet with the Hallé Orchestra, returned to London to devote more time to solo and chamber music. He has been a member of many noted ensembles, including the London Music Phoenix, the London Wind Trio, and the Melos Ensemble. The Melos Ensemble, formed in 1962, has premiered many new works, and is closely associated with composer Benjamin Britten. He directed the group at the premiere of his War Requiem in Conventry.
