KATHRYN CROSBY
She sends a letter to Don and Ginny Clark, thanking them for roses.
Typed letter signed: "Kathryn" in blue ink, 1p, 6x4 closed, 6x8 flat monogramed card. No place, 1978 January 20. To Don and Ginny Clark. In full: "I want to thank you so much for the beautiful red roses. They made our opening night seem very special. All good wishes".  A film starlet of the 1950s (The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad, 1957; Anatomy of a Murder, 1959), Kathryn Grant (1933-2024) married film and music idol Bing Crosby in 1957, devoting much of her time to their family and his career until the crooner's death in 1977. In the 1990s she resumed a stage career, returning in a revival of State Fair (1996) to a Broadway stage she first shared with Bing in 1976 (Bing Crosby on Broadway). In addition to stage tours of the U.S., Crosby has performed on the Russian stage in Chekhov's The Seagull and in Hello, Dolly, learning her lines phonetically. RADIE HARRIS (1904-2001) was a long-time entertainment journalist for the "Hollywood Reporter". She wrote her "Broadway Ballyhoo" column from 1940 to the 1990s. Harris, who was also the talent coordinator for the 1943 film, Stage Door Canteen, received a special citation of merit from the Publicists Guild of America in 1982. Fine condition.
