Document signed "Knox Fowler" in blue ink. Blue ink and lead pencil notations in unknown hand and, on verso, red ink stamp. 2 pages, 6¼x9, 1 sheet, front and verso. With 6½x3¼ initiation fee receipt carbon copy with perforated left edge and 1-page, 5¼x8¼ typed letter stapled at top edge. Form is dated Oct. 2, 1957, letter is dated Sept. 30, 1957. Membership form for the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. Letter is addressed to Mr. Knox Fowler, Long Beach, California. In full: "Dear Mr. Fowler: This is to advise you that our records show that you were hired on behalf of our client, Lever Brothers Company, to appear on the Lux Video Theatre production, November 6, 1950 - 'The Wonderful Night', and on January 22, 1951 - 'Manhattan Pastorale'. Incidentally, as you are probably aware, you should have a record of this because of the W2 form which were furnished you in connection with the reporting to the government of compensa-tion, taxes, etc. in connection with the above mentioned appearances. Sincerely, Virginia C. Spragle". In 1951, Fowler appeared as a reporter in the Lux Video Theatre episode Manhattan Pastorale. We don't have any records of him appearing in the other episode. Lightly toned and creased. Signature touches notations. Letter is folded twice and unfolded. Form has light tear in left edge. Receipt has light tears in right edge and carbon copy marks and was folded once and unfolded. Otherwise in fine condition.
