LUIS "SQUEEGEE" CASTILLO
The Yankee batboy's Clubhouse Confidential, signed by him and by co-author "William Cane"
Book signed: "Luis 'Squeegee' Castillo", "William Cane", 6½x9½, 293 pages. Clubhouse Confidential: a Yankee Batboy's Insider Tale of Wild Nights, Gambling, and Good Times with Modern Baseball's Greatest Team, by Luis "Squeegee" Castillo with William Cane. New York: St Martin's Press, 2011. Hardcover with dust jacket. LUIS CASTILLO, given his nickname of "Squeegee" by Derek Jeter, was batboy for the New York Yankees from 1998 to 2005. He was popular with Yankee fans, who sometimes chanted his name when he appeared on the field. Despite the title, reviewers of this book say it's not really a sensationalistic exposé, but is a convincing insider's look at the Yankee players who won three World Championships during Castillo's tenure with the team. William Cane is the pen name of author MICHAEL CHRISTIAN, a former English teacher at Boston College and CUNY who has written on diverse subjects. Best known are The Book of Kisses and The Art of Hugging, and his lectures and instructional videos on kissing techniques. He also wrote the book and lyrics for an off-Broadway play, Meet the Real Ernest Shackleton (2004). He also published a book on how to get your own book published, Write Like the Masters (2009). Fine condition.
