May 7, 1982 edition of Variety. Signed onfull-pageadvertisement on page 21, entitled: "Meet MAURICE ROËVES". This advertisement has headshots of Roëves in two of his projects at that time: as Rudolph Hess in the 1982 American TV movie Inside the Third Reich and Sergeant James in the 1979 BBC series Danger UXB. This advertisement also lists two of his upcoming projects: as Major Steele in an August 1982 London production of Who Dares Wins; and starring in the TV series Heather Ann (1985), which was "filming on Location/in Cornwall until May 21.". Roëves, born in Sunderland, County Durham, England in 1937, is a Scottish actor with almost 100 movies and TV shows to his credit, as of this biography, since 1966. Science fiction fans will probably recognize him from his appearance as Stotz in the 1984 Doctor Who serial The Caves of Androzani and as a Romulan captain in the 1993 Star Trek: The Next Generation episode The Chase. Roëves has also appeared on the stage as MacDuff, opposite Sir Alec Guinness, in Macbeth, as Iago in Othello and as Robert Burns in the one-man play There Was a Man. Lightly toned and creased.
