Autograph Letter Signed: "Peace!/ Mike", 3p, 5¼x8½. No place, no date. On sheet imprinted "M*A*S*H" at upper margin and Mike Farrell at lower margin. In full: "Hi- Your letter was very sweet. While your attention (and intentions) are flattering, I hope you'll understand that I don't have the time to be involved in your club and while I appreciate what you're doing. I hope it will continue only as long as there is value in it for you. I really can't think of any 'most important advice' other that a friend's contention that the most important thing any of us can do is to 'show up.' If I wasn't in this business I really don't know what I'd be doing, but I like to think I'd be in one of the helping professions-perhaps as a counselor. Public in-terest lawyer might be a thought. I don't know."  When Wayne Rogers left the hit television series M*A*S*H (1972-1983), it opened an opportunity for previously little known Mike Farrell (b. 1939), to become popular army surgeon B. J. Hunnicutt in 1975, remaining on the show until the end of its long run. Farrell also directed five episodes of M*A*S*H. Other recurring television credits include The Interns (1970-1971), Providence (1999-2002), and The Red Road (2014-2015). For his work on M*A*S*H, he received two Emmy nominations.
