Autograph notes signed "Nancy Gates" and, on verso, "Walkin' Charlie/Aldrich". 2 pages, 7¾x10. B/w printed photo of Gates affixed. Gate's note in full: "Dear George Thanks for your help on 'Member of The Wedding'. With Best Wishes,". Aldrich's note in full: "Nov 12, '52 To Georgie Sanders the 'great' George, theres [sic] little that remains to be said of your wonderful versatility, ability and your personality, However, what remains, Wish I had said it- Sincerely,". Postcript to Aldrich's note: "P.S. Thanks for Kathy". American actress GATES (1926-2019) had already appeared on stage and radio before graduating to RKO Radio and the silver screen in 1942. She stared receiving regular starring roles after a few years in two-reelers and B features with 1944's The Master Race. But Gates quite became a star and was back in B features, this time as a free agent. She left movies after 1960's Comanche Station for guest star spots on TV and retired in 1969 for family life. In all, she appeared in over 90 movies and TV shows. Country music singer ALDRICH, born in 1918, is probably best known for his 1951 song Walkin' The Guitar Strings. Aldrich got his first guitar during the Great Depression. After being discharged from the U. S. Navy in 1946, Aldrich played in Oklahoma and El Monte, California before Walkin' The Guitar Strings earned him his own show on Los Angeles' KTTV. He also published music through Acuff-Rose, had three radio programs on top of his television show and, until 1961, put on live shows with his horse Ranger at actor Ray "Crash" Corrigan's movie ranch Corriganville. Lightly toned, stained and creased. Show through touches notes and Gates' signature. Discoloration in bottom left corner touches Aldrich's signature. Lightly discolored at top and left edges. Neatly torn from binging at right edge. Random ink stains. Otherwise in fine condition.
