Autograph Note signed: "Best to you, Warren/Norm Nathan", 6x3¾. Norm Nathan (1926-1996) was a fixture of Boston radio from 1944, following his graduation from Chelsea High School, until his death. For the first decade, he labored at obscure stations, but became the overnight DJ at WHDH in 1955. Hired to play light pop, he played jazz instead late at night when he thought the station manager would be asleep. The show proved so popular, that soon he was playing jazz all night long and interviewing major jazz musicians. Switching to drive time, he began introducing his own comedy monologues into the show. He moved up to talk show host and news anchor, and by the end of his career was running shows on three stations at the same time: a late night show on WHDH, a morning show on WRKO, and a weekend show on WBZ. Nathan is enshrined in the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame. Multiple staple holes at left. Lightly creased. Lightly toned at edges. Irregularly cut at bottom edge.
