PAT PARRISH and JAMES MELTON
The tenor and actress sign opposite sides of a 5½x4¼ album leaf.
Autograph Sentiment signed: "Good Luck/Pat Parrish" and on verso "James Melton" in pencil, 5½x4¼ album leaf. Patricia "Pat" Parrish appeared in 11 films including They Live in Fear (1944), Let's Go Steady (1945) and Both Barrels Blazing (1945). She had small roles, sometimes uncredited, in her films from 1937 (In Old Chicago) to 1948 (One Touch of Venus). The year 1944 was probably her busiest, with roles in Secret Command, Carolina Blues and Miss Bobby Socks. James Melton (1904-1961) was born in Moultrie, Georgia. A popular singer during the 1920's and 1930's, he performed on several radio programs and made recordings for Victor Records and Columbia Records. He appeared in five films including Stars Over Broadway (1935), Sing Me a Love Song (1936) and Melody for Two (1937). Later in his career, Melton performed as a tenor with opera companies like The Metropolitan Opera, St. Louis Opera Company and the Philadelphia La Scala Opera Company. He has two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Multiple tack-head size holes at left. Pencil notes (unknown hand) on front and verso. Lightly creased. Lightly soiled. Otherwise, fine condition.
