In". The Spiral Press, N.Y. Illustrated by J.J. Lanes. Imprinted on front cover: "Sent with
Holiday Greetings/at Christmas 1935 from/ELINOR & ROBERT FROST". Robert Frost
(1874-1963), who had published his first poem in 1894, was America's most celebrated poet
by the 1920s. Noted for his metaphoric sketches of life in New England, Frost was awarded
Pulitzer Prizes in 1924, 1931, 1937 and 1943. In 1961, he read his poem "The Gift
Outright" at the inauguration of John F. Kennedy, becoming the first poet to take part in a
Presidential inauguration. Fine condition.
