Typed letter signed: "Sharon Goldman", in black ink, 1 page, 8½x11. No place, June 1, 1985. In full: "Dear Mr. Willis, hello: This past winter while I was in Hillbilly Women at the Actors Studio in NYC, I received a letter from you requesting a picture and resume. As I was moving from one apartment to another, your letter was lost. So, perhaps this is coming to you too late for your purposes. In any case, I thank you for your interest. Most sincerely," and added postscript "In case you need some agent information--I work with Jeff Hunter Agency and Paul Martino at DCM. I haven't decided which to sing with so I'm freelancing." Sharon Goldman is an American actress who had a few minor roles on Sheila Levine Is Dead and Living in New York (1975), Visions (1977), Over-Under Sideway-Down (1977) and Eyewitness (1981). John A. Willis (1916-2010), active in Theatre World from the beginning, became its chief editor in 1965, holding that position until 2008. Willis is regarded as one of the foremost theatre and film historians of the 20th century. While producing (and presenting) the annual Theatre World Awards, Willis also served on the nominating committee for the Tony Awards. Theatre World, which received its own Tony for Excellence in Theatre in 2001, continues under chief editor Ben Hodges. Normal mailing folds. Creased and lightly toned around edges.
