Biography
Albert Spalding (1890-1953), the son and nephew of the sporting goods pioneers, James Walter Spalding and Albert Spalding, made his Paris debut in 1905 at the age of 17 and his American debut in 1908 at Carnegie Hall at the age of 20. He was the first American violinist to enjoy international popularity. He later taught at Juilliard (1933-1944) and composed for violin and piano.
