Sörenstam's foray into golf began at an early age, and by her teenage years, her talent was unmistakable. She played collegiate golf at the University of Arizona, where she won the NCAA individual championship in 1991. Shortly thereafter, in 1995, she joined the LPGA Tour and quickly rose to dominance. Throughout her illustrious career, Sörenstam accumulated 10 major championships and 72 LPGA Tour wins, making her the female golfer with the fourth-highest number of wins in LPGA history. Internationally, her impact was equally profound with 18 victories on the Ladies European Tour. A testament to her consistency and skill, she held the position of World No. 1 in the Women's World Golf Rankings for 377 weeks, underscoring her dominance in the sport.
