Biography
Clair Engle (1911-1964) was a Democratic U. S. Representative from California's 2nd Congressional District (1943-1959) and U. S. Senator from California (1959-1964). He was also Tehama County District Attorney (1934-1942) and a member of the California State Senate (1943) as well as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention (1948, alternate; 1956; and 1960).
