Biography
Gale Gordon (1906-1995) earned posthumous induction into the Radio Hall of Fame for acting roles which included the first radio Flash Gordon (1935), another title role in Granby's Green Acres, and recurring roles on Fibber McGee and Molly, The Great Gildersleeve, and the Phil Harris/Alice Faye show. He went on to TV success, featured first as the pompous principal on Our Miss Brooks. Reportedly the first choice of friend Lucille Ball to play Fred Mertz on I Love Lucy but barred from it by his Miss Brooks contract, Gordon did join Ball as a foil in her later comedies of the 1960s, The Lucy Show and Here's Lucy.
