Biography
Born in Dublin, Geraldine Fitzgerald (1913-2005) went onto the stage and then into films. She was nominated for an Oscar as Best Supporting Actress for Wuthering Heights (1939). Other starring roles included Dark Victory (1939) and Wilson (1944). She aged into distinguished character roles, as in The Pawnbroker (1964), Harry and Tonto (1974) and Arthur (1981).
