Biography
Englishman Henry Moore (1898-1986), one of the outstanding sculptors of the 20th century, is known for his large pieces in bronze and stone designed for outdoor display. He was a leading figure in the surrealist movement in art, though he did not accept all of its tenets. Moore received many public commissions, including pieces for the UNESCO building in Paris.
