Biography
Jo Ann Marlowe (b. 1935) appeared in some major films of the early 1940s (Yankee Doodle Dandy, Mildred Pierce) before winning the title role of Little Iodine (1946). With the same penchant for mischief as the Jimmy Hatlo comic strip character, she tries to break up her parents' marriage and get her father fired from his job. Unlike the cartoon Iodine, however, she has a change of heart in the film. Marlowe left the profession when she outgrew the children's roles.
