Justin Tubb (August 20, 1935 – January 24, 1998) was an American country music singer and songwriter, noted for his contribution to the honky-tonk style of country music. The son of legendary country music figure Ernest Tubb, Justin Tubb carved out a distinctive career in his own right, marked by his versatile voice and compelling songwriting.

Born in San Antonio, Texas, Tubb grew up in a musical environment due to his father's celebrated career. Despite this, he initially showed more interest in journalism and attended the University of Texas to study this field. However, the allure of music proved too strong, and he eventually shifted his focus toward a music career. Tubb's recording career took off in the 1950s when he signed with RCA Victor. His first hit, "I Gotta Go Get My Baby" (1954), was followed by "Looking Back to See" (1954), a duet with Goldie Hill that reached No. 4 on the country charts. His song "Lonesome 7-7203," recorded by Hawkshaw Hawkins, became a major hit after Hawkins' untimely death in 1963.

One of Tubb’s most significant contributions was as a songwriter, penning songs not only for himself but for other artists as well. Notable compositions include "Keeping Up with the Joneses," a duet between Faron Young and Margie Singleton, and "Love Is No Excuse," a duet between Tubb and Lorene Mann that reached No. 21 on the country charts in 1963.

Tubb's career saw numerous changes, reflective of the evolving country music industry. In the 1970s, he shifted to a more traditional sound, reminiscent of his father's style. During this period, he released several albums including "Where You're Concerned" (1970) and "Things I Still Remember Very Well" (1975).
