Biography | show moreshow less
Paul Petersen, born on September 23, 1945, in Glendale, California, is an American actor, singer, and author, best known for his role as Jeff Stone on the popular television series "The Donna Reed Show" in the late 1950s and 1960s. His career in show business began as a child actor and extended into his adult years, encompassing various roles in film and television, as well as success in music.

Petersen's acting career commenced at a young age when he appeared in the film "The Monolith Monsters" (1957) and subsequently in "Houseboat" (1958). However, it was his role in "The Donna Reed Show," which he began at the age of 12 and continued until he was 20, that brought him widespread recognition. As Jeff Stone, he became a familiar face in American households and a symbol of the American teenager of that era. Parallel to his acting career, Petersen enjoyed success as a pop singer. His most notable hit single, "My Dad," was released in 1962, coinciding with his tenure on "The Donna Reed Show." The song reflected the wholesome and family-oriented image he projected on the show.

After "The Donna Reed Show" ended, Petersen continued to act in various film and television projects but gradually shifted his focus away from acting. He attended college and began writing novels and autobiographies, showcasing his versatility in different creative fields.

In the 1980s, Petersen founded A Minor Consideration, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting child actors' well-being and transitioning into adult life after their early careers. His advocacy work stems from his experiences as a child actor and his understanding of the unique challenges faced by children in the entertainment industry.
