Biography
Walter Connolly (1887-1940), was a versatile actor of stage, silent film and talkies, appearing in twenty-two Broadway productions and more than fifty films. He often played exasperated business tycoons, or the father of the leading lady (as in It Happened One Night, 1934; and Libeled Lady, 1936). He was a Mississippi con man to Mickey Rooney's Huckleberry Finn (1939). His last film appearance was a starring one: the title role in The Great Victor Herbert. He also played the title character in The Adventures of Charlie Chan on NBC Radio from 1932 to 1938.
