Biography
Canadian actor WALTER PIDGEON (1898-1984), who had his first leading roles in silent films, earned Best Actor Academy Award nominations for Mrs. Miniver(1942) and Madame Curie (1943). He had prominent roles in many other successful films, including The Bad and the Beautiful (1952), Forbidden Planet (1956), Advise and Consent (1962) and Funny Girl (1968). He received a Tony nomination as Best Actor in a Musical for Take Me Along.
