Biography
ZaSu Pitts (1894-1963) as a top character comedian in the 1930s. Also a superb dramatic actress, she had played the lead in Erich von Stroheim's ten-hour masterpiece, Greed (1924). ZaSu (named for her Aunts Eliza and Susan) was known to television audiences as Elvira "Nugey" Nugent on The Gale Storm Show (Oh! Susannah) from 1956-1960. Photographer's stamp on verso.
