The two actors play Jim and Johnny Younger in the 1949 film The Younger Brothers. In the film, the Younger Brothers, who rode with a notorious outlaw gang led by Frank and Jesse James, decide to go straight and try to get pardons so they can return to a law-abiding life. A collegiate track star at the University of Washington, Herman Brix (1906-2007) won a silver medal in the shot put at the 1928 Olympics in Amsterdam. When Edgar Rice Burroughs decided to produce his own film version of his Tarzan, he cast Brix in the lead (The New Adventures of Tarzan, 1935). Brix studied acting, adopted the screen name of Bruce Bennett, and played second leads and supporting roles in many films, including Sahara (1943), Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948) and The Outsider (1961). Stage, screen and television actor Robert Hutton (1920-1994), born Robert Bruce Winne, made his film debut as a Warner Bros. contract player in 1943. After appearing in such films as Destination Tokyo (1943), Hollywood Canteen (1944), And Baby Makes Three (1949) and Slaughter Trail (1951), Hutton began working on the small screen in early TV anthologies. He continued to make films, such as Man from Tangier (1957), Cinderfella (1960), They Came from Beyond Space (1967) and Trog (1970), and often guest starred on TV series as well as in the miniseries QB VII (1974).
