Country music superstar Trisha Yearwood, born in 1964, has won three Grammy Awards - (1994, "I Fall to Pieces"; 1997, "How Do I Live?" and "In Another's Eyes", a duet with Garth Brooks). She was named Female Vocalist of the Year by Country Music Association and the Academy of Country Music in 1997 and 1998. Yearwood, who began her career as a demo singer in Nashville, was selected as a back-up singer by Brooks and appeared on his debut album (1989) and his subsequent hit album, No Fences (1989). Under Brooks' tutelage, she signed a recording deal with MCA in 1990, releasing her self-titled debut album in 1991. She became the first female country singer to sell a million copies of a debut album, which included the #1 single, "She's in Love With the Boy", as well as three other Top 10 hits. Yearwood also topped the charts with "XXX's and OOO'x (An American Girl)" and "Thinkin' About You" in 1995 and "Believe Me Baby (I Lied)" in 1996. "In Another's Eyes", a long awaited duet with Brooks, reached #2 on the charts. On May 25, 2005, Yearwood, who had divorced her second husband, Mavericks' bassist Robert Reynolds, in 2000, accepted Brooks' marriage proposal in Bakersfield, California.
