Signature: "Turner Layton", 4½x3¼ pink album leaf. Although Turner Layton (1894-1978) appeared in two films (1936, 1937), he is best known as the composer of "Way Down Yonder in New Orleans" and "After You've Gone". The former song, introduced in Mirrors in 1934, has been heard in two other films, Somebody Loves Me (1952) and Bix (1981); the latter song, introduced in Boom Town (1940), was part of the sound track of For Me and My Gal (1942), Sweet and Lowdown (1999), The Cat's Meow (2001) and The Aviator (2004). Pencil note (unknown hand) at upper margin. Irregular edges. Fine condition.
