production of The Pajama Game (1973). In film, he has appeared in 80 titles, but he is really
most well-known for his radio career. He played the title character in the radio comedy The
Great Gildersleeve (1941), a role he would play for seven years. CHARLOTTE
MANSON (1917-1996) was a radio actress, known for her parts on radio soap operas,
"Society Girl", "Big Sister", "Twenty Questions", "True and False" and many others. Manson
made a few screen appearances as well on The Untouchables and The Jackie Gleason Show.
BARBRA FULLER(1921-2024) was heard in 25 radio soap operas, including "One Man's
Family". She made her first film appearance as a temptress used for entrapment by the
Communist Party in The Red Menace (1949). Her first of many TV appearances was in the
"Crime Wave" episode of The Adventures of Superman (1953). Other guest spots included
Perry Mason and My Three Sons. Her last acting role was in The Roommates (1973). Fuller
was married for a time to Western hero Lash Larue. CORNELIUS J. PEEPLES
(1920-1954) was a radio and film actor. He is best known for his roles on the programs
"Stepmother", "Those Happy Gilmans", and "Tom Mix and His Ralston Straight Shooters",
mainly cast in juvenile roles. He later had a role in the film Julius Caesar (1950). BESS

programs such as "The Golden Needle", "Lone Journey", "The Romance of Helen Trent",
"Young Doctor Malone" and "Stepmother". NORMAN ROSS (1895-1953) was an
American competition swimmer who won five events at the Inter-Allied Games in June
1919, held at Joinville-Le-Pont near Paris, and three gold medals at the 1920 Summer

championships during his career. In later years he was a popular Chicago radio

in Chicago. GERARD DARROW (1933-1980) was a child prodigy. At the age of 5 he was
being written about as an ornithology expert. He could identify and name over 1000 bird
species. He is perhaps best known as one of the children from the show "Quiz Kids",
where youngsters from the Chicago area would answer difficult questions over the air. He died
at the age of 47 due to alcoholism. JOAN BISHOP was a music expert, also featured on the
show "Quiz Kids". As one of the original featured children she was an expert on Brahms and
Beethoven. She later became a pianist and singer but never quite reached the fame she aspired
