In 1991, she was a topless dancer in Houston when she met J. Howard Marshall II, the man who would become her second husband (1994 until his death in 1995). In May 1992, Smith was "Playboy" magazine's Playmate of the Month, going on to become Playmate of the Year in 1993. Beginning in 1999, Smith began an on-going legal battle for her husband's fortune (she had been 26 when the two had married, he was nearly 90). Smith, who regularly appeared on TV talk and entertainment shows, had debuted in films in 1994, the year she appeared in her best known film, Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult. She would appear in a handful of films as well as guest star on several TV shows, including Veronica's Closet and Ally McBeal (both 1999), and Smith starred in her own TV reality series, The Anna Nicole Show, in 2002. In 2006, Smith was once again in the news after moving to the Bahamas and giving birth to a daughter, Dannielyn Hope. The event was marred by the tragic death of her son, Daniel Smith, in her hospital room. Smith herself would meet a tragic end in Hollywood, Florida - resulting in even more controversy and drama. Two men, Howard K. Stern and photographer Larry Birkhead, claimed to be the father of Dannielyn, and Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband, Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt, also came forward to say that he had a ten-year affair with Smith and could be the baby's father. There were also legal battles over the custody of Smith's body and her final resting place, but she was ultimately buried in the Bahamas next to her son. Minor surface creases (not evident head on).
