ARTHUR RUBINSTEIN, JENÖ LÉNER, SANDOR ROTH, IMRE HARTMAN and ALEJANDRO BOROWSKY. Program signed: "Arthur Rubinstein" on cover, "A Borowsky" and "Jenö Léner" on page 125 and "Sandor Roth" and "Imre Hartman" on page 24, which has unidentified line of writing above Roth's signature, 18p, 4½x5½. Titled: "Arturo Rubinstein Recital de Piano, Rosario, Argentina, 31 July 1940". In Spanish. Considered one of the greatest concert pianists of the 20th century, ARTHUR RUBINSTEIN (1887-1982) was best known for his interpretations of Chopin. His huge repertoire included Beethoven, Mozart, Ravel and Stravinsky as well as Chopin, and Rubenstein made over 200 recordings, selling over ten million copies. The Polish-born American pianist remained at the top of his profession for over 70 years. Violinist JENÖ LÉNER is best known for the Léner Quartet, a Hungarian string ensemble that he formed in 1921. The Quartet was extremely popular in Europe and also toured South America and the U.S., relocating to the U.S. during WWII. Léner died of cancer at age 54 in 1948, shortly after performing on another tour of South America. SANDOR ROTH, who played viola, and IMRE HARTMAN, who played cello, were original members of the Quartet, which had no changes in its musicians until 1941. First 6 pages are separated. Irregular left edge due to separation and tape repair at left margin. Overall, fine condition.
